The Location
When we first started dating, the community we called home was the Roxbury area. It was there that we grew to know each other more as well as sharing new experiences in our surrounding communities like JP- where we took long walks, Mission Hill- where there’s a little cute park and maybe the best yoga studio in Boston, Roxbury - where we had the sweetest elderly woman, who always received our packages on accident, and many more amazing locations with rich history and our own experiences along with them.
When we began to look for locations to open shop, we found a listing for a retail space and was immediately drawn to it. The concept, the untapped potential, and the unexplored neighborhood of West Roxbury, the place we’ll now be able to call the original Banh Mi Oi. Now 3 years later, we’ve found ourselves sharing our joy of good food for the good people of Foxborough as well as our newest venture in Waltham.
The Concept
When we sat down to think about our first restaurant concept to really pair with our brand and drinks, we knew we wanted to take classic dishes from the Vietnamese culture and make it shine. What foods really made us nostalgic? What foods really made us think about Vietnam?
BÁNH MÌ!! Bánh mì is one of the most popular Vietnamese street food found in nearly all regions of Vietnam. Influenced by the French, the Vietnamese baguette sandwich plays with savory flavors, proteins, and fresh veggies. Bánh Mì is known for its lightness and healthy ingredients, enjoyed while in a rush or enjoyed while sipping on a Vietnamese iced coffee on a mellow day, people watching.
There it was, our first concept to pair impeccably with our specialty handcrafted drinks.
The Culture
Just like Vietnam’s culture, although busy, people will always put time out to drop by their favorite food stall for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We hope our take out concept will provide you fresh, fast, and especially a fulfilling experience.
